Lemon Print

With all of the buzz surrounding music festivals, theres just as much talk, if not more, about festival dressing. Whether you'd like a girly/feminine take on festival style like I did here, or something more bohemian, Bloomingdales has got you covered with tons of ideas. Check out the full lookbook here for more inspiration.

I think a fun approach to festival style is something bright and colorful, with a fun print and cut out details, like this lemon floral print dress. Obviously, we don't have to attend a festival to get in the spirit. You could also wear this dress right now through Summer. If you're not much of a mini dress kind of gal, try the romper version. It's just as sweet ;)

You can throw a chambray bomber jacket over it for those crisp nights.

Eyelet Stripes

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and Easter with your families. I know we sure did! More like, Madelyn and Kai played for hours on end with their cousins, and it was the sweetest thing to watch.

We snapped these photos last week while in West Palm, and it was such a beautiful day. The warm sun and cool breeze could make my mouth water sitting here now with a humid, 81 degrees. Growing up in Georgia, I remember getting onto the school bus in the morning, with a sweater, and coming home in the afternoon sweating. Those awkward, in-between season days are still very real. Except, a little different here in FL.

For those weird weather days, I love wearing a pair of shorts with a blouse, or fun sweater. I've always felt that if at least one half of my body is a bit more covered than the other, then I could potentially be comfortable in both warm and chilly situations. ha ha!

Please, tell me I'm not the only one that does this!

It was love at first sight with this eyelet, stripe blouse from Chicwish. I mean, eyelet AND stripes are both on my list of favorite things. You could wear this with boyfriend shorts like I did here, a pair of white denim, and even a little blue skirt. I also really love this adorable white mini skirt.

Our Master Bedroom Update

In a perfect world, we could all have an interior designer and an unlimited budget, am I right? Let's be real for a second, that's not my life and it's not the majority of the populations life, so I need to really let go and stop being such a perfectionist. I'm always thinking of how I can complete our master bedroom, so I can share with all of you.. but It's never at that point where I feel it's totally "me" and finished.

Today, I'd love to introduce you all to an update on what's going on with my decor, and where I'm at so far!

I wanted to do something a little different than our last bedroom in South Carolina. Our old room was more shabby chic, rustic/ trying to be farmhouse. This one, I wanted to really reflect my personal style at home. Something more eclectic, and full of pieces that mean something to me. With that, comes waiting, and lots of it. Saving, too! I'd rather practice patience and have good quality pieces that will last us. Hence why this process is traveling at snail speed!

For starters, we all know I have a very dear love affair with Anthropologie. The quality, and uniqueness of everything has really stolen my heart. I spotted these nightstands, and saved up for a good while. Then, the day had finally come, and they were mine! Anthropologie was extremely generous and helped jump start my decor process with these lamps to compliment our new furniture addition. (Thank you again!!) .... and then I found this stunning mirror at our local store. Ah, isn't she lovely?

I also think a bar cart would be a really unique, and unexpected use for a nightstand. Try this handwoven rattan cart, or this retro inspired cart.

(I'd love to add a chest for extra storage underneath that Slim Aarons art print)

I really love having a fresh, white base. Essentially, so I can swap out pillows, add a quilt or throw, or even change the rug. That way, it won't get too busy for me, and I'll have that white comforter to brighten everything up! We recently got this Crane and Canopy duvet cover, and sheet set. I couldn't be happier with the quality (already washed twice!). The ruffle detail gives the perfect feminine touch!

I love this Ikat print quilt, this thistle quilt, or this quilt for a fun pop of color and design.

Stil, there is a lot of work left to do, and I'll be sure to update you all along the way!

Palms and Stripes

It takes time, as you go through life, to figure out what your personal style really is. I've gone through the super girly phase, preppy, boho, MaryKate and Ashley boho. ha ha! Even through all of those phases, I've always had more of a girly, feminine style peeking out of each phase. You really can't change what your heart wants.

White + Warren Palm Print Sweater c/o \\ Anthropologie skirt \\ Marc Fisher mule sandals \\ Chanel handbag \\ Preston and Olivia hat (sold out) similar style here , also love this one, and this one \\

Last week, I was getting ready to run errands and get a little break from the kids. Sometimes I really need that mental clarity, and a chance to get dressed and put together. Even if it's just for a few hours. Anyways, I was in my closet thinking of what to wear, and I saw this skirt hanging directly underneath this gorgeous palm printed cashmere sweater. The colors in each complemented the other perfectly, and I figured why the hell not? Let's go big or go home today! ha ha!

I grabbed my shoes, and headed out. I knew I loved what I had on, but I had no idea how many kind strangers would come up to me just to tell me how much they loved it too!

If you're not one for print mixing like I am, opt for a solid white tank. Like I did here. Or, try this soft pink lace cami, no need to even tuck it in if you'd prefer not to. The lace detailing and shorter length would flow so nice... actually, I might just have to order this top! This one shoulder, white top would be just as cute.

I want to quickly point out, that this midi skirt is meant to have a lived in look. The fabric is lightweight, and woven with imperfections. Its soft, and flows so beautifully. I have a huge problem when people go online and write terrible reviews on garments, based on personal opinion. You cannot bash the quality of clothing because you do not like the way it was designed and created. That is your personal opinion, if you do not like the fabric or construction. This does not make the skirt of poor quality. I would not have purchased this if it was!

Sorry, rant over! :)

Golden Hour in Palm Beach

I could just squeeze Chris, I love these photos so much. A lot of my inspiration can be found within airy, sunny photos. They seem so calming, and romantic to me. Does that even make sense? ha ha! If you're ever in Palm Beach during golden hour, you must take a walk around all of the stunning neighborhoods. The foliage and gorgeous homes will take your breath away.

Embroidered Midi dress, on sale! use code "Event17" \\ Joie sandals, also on sale! go up one full size! \\ Kayu straw tote \\ Janessa Leone hat \\ Ray Ban sunglasses

A lot of times, we want to pack up and take a fun vacation, packed with activities and Instagram worthy finds, but sometimes it's the simplest of things that are truly special. I love the idea of truly taking in our surroundings instead of always trying to find the next stop on our list of things to do and see. It can get kind of daunting and exhausting, right? This past weekend, we really tried to relax and find the beauty in everything around us. I think it worked out pretty great, and these photos make me so happy!!

Do you live somewhere that you haven't really explored just yet? Maybe try "rediscovering" your home town this weekend. We don't always have to be off on the next big adventure.

The more time we spend in Palm Beach, the more I'm contemplating making it our home. I think of it as Florida's version of Charleston. We always loved taking day trips over to Charleston when we lived in Myrtle Beach.

This dress is my feminine meets boho dream come true. I'm really embracing those laid back, summer vibes right now. I mean, can you blame me? We live in the tropics!

Just a friendly heads-up, Shopbop is having a sale event, so you can take advantage of sprucing up your wardrobe for the warmer season ahead without having to break the bank. I love saving money ahead of time, rather than waiting until I need new summer clothes and everything is full price!

Some of my favorites from the sale include the dress I am wearing, this ruffle skirt I wore in this post here, this gorgeous midi dress, this floral midi dress, this off the shoulder colorful, tiered dress, these neutral wrap up flats, this paper bag waist midi skirt, this coverup dress (I have it and wear it as a dress or beach coverup!), and this wicker bag.

You can shop the full sale here.

White on White

I really can't get enough of this all white style, can I? It's such a classy, and feminine way of jumping into Spring. Keep in mind, you must be wary of little ones with messy fingers. Although, Chris tells me i'm pretty messy all on my own without the kids...

Hey, do you remember those summer days when you spend all day out in the sunshine? Then, opting for a bright, white outfit to compliment your fresh tan for dinner? I remember those days so clearly. Ah, to be young again! ha ha. Kidding.

I found this super cute, chiffon top at Chicwish, and knew it would be perfect. Dress it up with wedges and a pair of skinny denim, or down with your favorite denim shorts. It's nice and breezy to combat that heat, and in some cases, sticky humidity! In addition, I was very impressed with the quality! (You can read my last post with Chicwish here.)
