These days, the rules around occasion dressing are fluid, leaving tons of room to mix things up and style even more of the items in your closet for a night out.

I styled four looks perfect for summer occasions with Old Navy's new and improved tees.

I love the juxtaposition of an androgynous look.. pairing a simple piece--like a tee-- with pieces that are more feminine and dressy. Anytime I can be both comfortable and chic, I've struck gold! Old Navy tees have a fit and fabrication that stand up to a more polished look-- they're preshrunk and pre washes for a softer fabric. Now there are countless silhouettes to choose from, ranging from cropped to cocoon, so you can get creative with styling.

Anyone who knows me knows I love to layer. Start with a simple, dainty dress and add a solid colored tee on top. Tying your tee up at the waisted defines your figure and adds some edge and personality. Top it all of with a cute pair of ankle peep-toe booties. It becomes an effortless date-night look or a relaxed go-to for hosting dinner or cocktails at home.

Denim jackets are one of my favorite layering pieces, especially paired with a solid tee. This borrowed-from-the-boys tee in a neutral charcoal balances out this full, feminine skirt, making it a modern option for a special-occasion brunch. I love the chic, relaxed vibe when I throw this jacket over my shoulder- and it's right there for me if an afternoon outing turns into more casual evening plans. And you gotta love this woven midi skirt to infuse just the right amount of sweetness into the relaxed tee and denim.

Deconstructed denim is a modern approach to "cocktail dressing," and pairing these cropped, high-waisted denim pants with a sleek black tee and killer heels feels elevated and chic, yet relaxed. Plus, you'll be comfortable all night long! Try this vintage high-rise pair and these neutral wedges. With warmer temperatures on the horizon, you could also opt for a distressed denim skirt and nautical stripes as a chic alternative for a night out.
